The results of the regional elections in the Community of Madrid, as well as the experience of its electoral campaign, express several lessons. The four basic facts are known: victory of Trumpism by the Popular Party of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, which has absorbed the Ciudadanos electorate; consolidation of VOX ultra-rightism, with strong political-ideological influence and limited institutional weight; failure of the erratic and losing strategy of the socialist Gabilondo, with its initial centrist and exclusionary orientation, which has led to the defeat of a credible and unitary left-wing alternative, and growth of the space for progress change, with the significant increase of both forces , Más Madrid and Unidas Podemos , whose joint representation far exceeds the representativeness of the Socialist Party . The right-wing bloc concentrates, strengthens and becomes hegemonized by Ayuso's PP, and in the left-wing bloc or progressive camp a double trend occurs: weakening of the PSOE along with the rise of MM and UP, although insufficient to compensate the strong socialist decline.
